Hi, great site and great review on the g73. I have been reading the g73 forum since dec. and I always liked your comments the best….wit-knowledge. Now it kinda seems the forum is in kaos with all the different problems with the machine and you haven’t posted in quite some time. Have you experienced any issues with your machine? I want a gaming laptop and the g73a1 seems like a good fit but personally, I have very limited technical skills when it comes to computers so I’m handicapped on the things I can do should a problem arise. I’m serious, I would need help to do the clean install that everybody says to do right off the bat to get rid of the bloatware. Now my last rig was a pentium 4 with a decent card that would actually run farcry 2 but not great.I gave that machine to the wife and daughter and got the 27″ imac. I like it but sucks for gaming. So, in your professional opinion and considering my limited attributes, do you think the g73a1…straight out of the box..bloatware..stock drivers and all would scratch my gaming itch? Thanks in advance for your opinion…Ken

Actually I have had zero problems with my machine. No keyboard problems, no crashes, no heat issues, nothing. Its been perfect and this is actually of the 6 or 7 laptops I have owned the only one that had absolutely no problems. I guess some people have had problems, this is a possibility for every machine even a good one, but all those people are covered by the great warranty and will get new machines to replace there bad ones. Once they have a good unit there tone should change for the better.
I cant say I know of any other laptop as good as this one to buy right now, and gaming performance is very good. I was extremely surprised to see it handle Dirt 2 on DX11 Ultra settings. I figured no laptop could actually handle DX11 even my desktop cant really do that.

The g73jh is awesome laptop. I can’t believe how this laptop handles games at 1920×1080. Stays cool and quiet. Audio is pretty decent, even takes care of Prototype’s low volume issue (just crank it up!).
if you have the cash (or the credit card) and want the best laptop on the market for under $2,000 look no further, you’ve found it.
